J. Hudson Taylor was the British missionary who founded the China Inland Mission, and was responsible for bringing Christianity to China in the 19th century. PTI President, Steve Rogers, recently had the opportunity to meet with Hudson's great grandson, J. Hudson Taylor IV, while he was visiting in Central Florida.

J. Hudson the IV was born in Taiwan, and, through Overseas Missionary Fellowship (OMF), he continues the mission work to China that was started by his great grandfather, and was continued by his grandfather and father (who recently went home to heaven).

 

The primary topic Hudson and Steve discussed was PTI's strategy to get its training course, What Every Pastor Ought To Know , translated and implemented in Mandarin Chinese. The goal is to have this entire project finished by August 2011, as PTI has been invited to travel to China for a summit of Christian leaders next year to share these pastor training resources with them.

 

This is an incredible opportunity, as J. Hudson Taylor IV has incredible favor with the leaders of the house church movement in China. His influence will allow PTI to network with these leaders in the major provinces of Mainland China, and get this vital training in as many hands as possible.

 

2020 Vision Symposium: Liberty University, Summer 2010

The Pastor Training Institute will be hosting a landmark ministry training symposium at Liberty University in the Summer of 2010.

Church leaders from around the globe will participate as some of the Church’s most dynamic speakers bring forth a Word in due season, addressing the essentials of What Every Pastor Ought to Know in this second decade of the twenty-first century. The goal is to train ministry leaders to see the next ten years with 2020 Vision.

  • What Every Pastor Ought to Know about revival in the pulpit and reformation in the pew
  • What Every Pastor Ought to Know about contemporary methods communicating a timeless message
