2020 Vision
Our 2020 Vision: so big only God could do it
The Adrian Rogers Pastor Training Institute has adopted a goal so simple that a child could understand it, yet so big that only God can do it. We call it our 2020 Vision. Simply put, we are asking God to help us train one million pastors, throughout 100 countries, in 20 different languages, by the year 2020.
In order to do this, we have adopted a three-fold pastor-training strategy. We want to give them:
…the best resources available,
…at the lowest cost possible (for most, it will be free of charge),
…through the medium that is most accessible—the Internet.
Through our soon to be launched state-of-the-art web portal, pastors—from anywhere in the world—will be able to enroll in the Pastor Training Institute Online, with all of our training delivered digitally—direct to their computer.
Although our course is already in English and Spanish, we have chosen 14 additional languages that will allow us to train pastors in some of the most strategic areas of the world; areas where training opportunities are not only severely limited, but where it is often dangerous for them to express their faith openly.
We are partnering with Trans World Radio to help us translate our course into languages such as Urdu (Pakistan), Farsi (Iran), Amharic (Ethiopia), Arabic, Chinese, Hindi, and Telugu (India). With French, we will be able to reach the many French-speaking countries in Africa, such as Niger, Chad, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Rwanda. Arabic will reach the vital region of the Middle East, where, often at great risks to their own lives, tens of thousands are converting to Christianity each month.
Our 20 languages and 100 countries have not been chosen randomly. Within each language—and the countries that speak that language—PTI has identified Great Commission Ministry Partners who are committed to bring world-class pastor training to their region.
Our 2020 Vision is actually a 10-year plan, with intermediate goals for each year, beginning in 2010:
2010
Beginning in the spring of 2010, we will start bringing the Pastor Training Institute online in English and Spanish. Trans World Radio will begin the translation of 18 additional languages. While these translations are taking place, we will begin actively enrolling English and Spanish-speaking pastors throughout the world. Spanish will allow us to reach over 19 countries in Latin America. English will allow us to reach English-speaking African pastors in countries such as Nigeria, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, as well as East Asian countries such as the Philippines and Singapore. By the end of 2010, over 10,000 English and Spanish-speaking pastors will be enrolled in the Pastor Training Institute.
2010–2012
We will begin bringing the additional 18 languages online, at an approximate rate of one language per month. By the end of 2012, our goal is to have all 16 languages online, and to have a full-time Indigenous Pastor Trainer in place in each of our 50 target countries, in order to oversee the pastor training there.
2012-2019
Our goal is to enroll a minimum of 200 pastors per month in each of our 50 target countries. This will give us at least 2000 pastors per year in each country who are enrolled in PTI Online.
2020
Our goal is to have over 1,000,000 pastors throughout the world who have graduated from the Adrian Rogers Pastor Training Institute.
