"The course that has had the biggest impact in my life in the last 10 years."

Rev. Guadalupe Gómez Ríos,
General Secretary
Nicaragua Baptist Convention

The course “What Every Pastor Ought to Know” by Bro. Adrian Rogers has impacted my life in an extraordinary way. I have decided to share this knowledge and this experience with other fellow pastors and Baptist leaders.

In my role as General Secretary of the Nicaragua Baptist Convention, I have recently begun times of training for leaders, especially pastors. We have organized them in such a way so that each group of brothers can finish the course together over a period of 3 different meetings.

In the first group, we had 21 leaders and pastors from the región of Rio San Juan, one of the most outlying areas of our country. The course was very well received. The comments shared at the end of each session were very enriching, and it was a great learning experience for me, as the feedback from the brothers and sisters in attendance served to strengthen us in those areas of our pastoral life we tend to neglect, things we deal with on a daily basis.

Our goal for the end of the year is to have finished the course with a total of 60 pastors and at least 60 other church leaders, in spite of the expenses for each conference being about $200 for photocopies and travel, but we have gotten by up to now with the support of some of the brothers from the local churches. We believe that in order to see better results and fruit of the work we are doing, we will need a “data show” (projector?) and a digital camera, as well as the teaching materials and money to at least cover travel expenses.

In spite of the difficulties, we firmly believe that by sharing this course with the brothers and sisters, and to the degree we put into practice the wise counsel shared by Bro. Adrian Rogers, we will be strengthening our leadership and our churches, and, surely, the results will be seen as well in winning more souls for Christ, which is our mission as pastors.
