News 07.14.2010 Adrian Rogers Encourages Inmates
Earlier this year, the Pastor Training Institute provided the chaplain of a penitentiary (in the southwest United States that, for security purposes, must remain un-named) with a copy of the "What Every Pastor Ought to Know" DVD course in Spanish.
On July 12, the chaplain wrote back:
The men have really enjoyed the videos. We have four facilities so when we are finished showing the videos at this one, I will take the course to the other three. Then, by the time they all go through the course, most of the guys that see it (at the first facility) will be gone and we will just keep using the DVDs over and over again. The messages are being heard by men from all over the world and from some of the largest cities in the world. Many believe they will be missionaries, pastors, evangelists, church planters, fathers, and disciples.
There are between 100 and 200 of them all together in the ministry training classes. About 20 to 40 will typically be in each class at each institution at any given time.
PRAYER FOCUS: Please pray that the Word of God would minister in a dynamic, life-changing way to each of these intimates and that Dr. Rogers would serve as a mentor to these men who, most likely, have had very few positive spiritual influencers in their lives.
